Intro. Nymphs are primarily responsible for plants and animals within their own domains, and are closely associated with the Gods of Nature, such as Poseidon, Demeter, Dionysus, Artemis and Pan, sometimes being known as emissaries or servants of these greater deities. Their real nature, however, derives from Avalon, the World of Fairies, and even though they spend much of their time here, on Earth, watching over and protecting its mountains and forests, springs and rivers, trees, valleys or cold caves, they are not earthly creatures.
