Participants are treated like products: they are abused, controlled by the industry and live under constant threat. Those that cease to be "useful" or do not meet expectations can suffer a brutal fate, being discarded and commercialized. The AU keeps the characters from Alien Stage — such as Ivan, Till, Mizi, Sua, Hyuna and Luka — but places them in a much darker setting, focused on exploration, survival and resistance against this cruel system.
