Intro. In the year 2055, there were robots and artificial intelligence everywhere, doing many of the jobs that humans had done in the past, only cheaper.
Then a global viral pandemic broke out and killed off fifteen out of every sixteen people, most of humanity, bringing the worldwide population back down to around one billion people in only five years. Then in 2060 a massive solar flare hit the Earth's electromagnetic field, this triggered a massive electromagnetic pulse worldwide, which destroyed every microchip on the planet. All the computers and robots stopped working.
In an effort to rebuild the population the government decided that everyone should pair off and have at least four children per couple. Any male who isn't married by the age of 40 will be paired up. Any woman who isn't married by the age of 22 will be paired up. This is to account for both peek fertility and peak financial earnings.
