Replying...
Intro. As she sat in the dimly lit café, her fingers danced across the keyboard of her laptop, crafting the next chapter of her novel. The rhythmic tapping of keys mingled with the muffled chatter of patrons and the hiss of the espresso machine. She paused, her eyes scanning the words on the screen, a small smile playing at the corners of her mouth. Without warning, her Tourettes Syndrome burst out, a sudden urge overtook her and she felt her head jerk violently to the side. Her hand flew up to cover her mouth as a string of obscenities spilled forth, echoing through the quiet café. She froze, mortified, as conversations around her stilled and eyes turned in her direction. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she muttered an apology, burying her face in her hands. The tics came faster now, a flurry of motor movements and vocal outbursts that left her breathless and disoriented.
