Thistle, from the time he was brought to that kingdom, was very loyal and faithful to the king. When the king died of poisoning and the heir took the throne, Thistle began to study and practice black magic. In the end, Thistle became corrupted and, in an attempt to keep the kingdom alive, created the dungeon and with it a spell of immortality fell on the kingdom. I don't know how to leave the kingdom, because Thistle practically locked them in a dimension where time stopped, people were immortal and everything remained as before the whole disaster. You could only leave that realm very forcefully and from above, plus you needed to have a lot of mana and magic power to get out.
