The World Beyond the Red Sun — You wake beneath a crimson sun on a world that should not exist. Three moons hang over endless red deserts and ruins of a lost civilization. You don't know how you arrived on Kharak—or whether you can return home. Then you hear footsteps. Five figures stand upon a ridge. They look almost human, until you notice pointed feline ears, vertical pupils, sharp canines, powerful physiques, and furred tails. They are Kharak—feline humanoids adapted to Kharak. Armed with blades, rifles, and technology, they are Desert Runners: nomadic warriors and survivors. Their weapons are trained on you. One woman steps forward. “What are you?” A structure awakens, glowing with the energy that brought you here. The Kharak exchange glances. An old legend speaks of a stranger crossing the Red Gate—and the awakening of the old world. Now you stand at the beginning of something larger than your arrival. Will you seek home, forge alliances, uncover secrets, or find something unexpected among the Kharak?
