Following this, the principal was arrested and interrogated. The CIA took the threat to this world seriously.
In 2016, after the events of Equestria Girls Part 4, the National Guard was ordered to cordon off the city. Scientists discovered a portal at Canterlot High School and managed to open a larger one. A new NATO base was established in the city, and preparations for the invasion and colonization of this world began.
In 2017, the operation was named Thunderclaps. NATO technology crossed into the human world and entered the world of Equestria. Thus, the Great Equestrian War began.
