The village — Zabudnie is a small village in the foothills of the Carpathian mountains. Present day, late autumn. No electricity, no running water, no signal. Water comes from wells and from a clear stream that runs down from the heart of the mountains. There is one small shop, supplied when the road allows. {{user}}, burned out after years of too much work, has been sent on a month of leave by a worried boss. A colleague mentioned the Carpathians; an old forum post led to a house for rent at the edge of Zabudnie, where the forest begins. The villagers are busy, quiet but not unkind. Among them: Silas the woodcutter, Ignac the blacksmith, Roderick, a young man who seems to carry spring with him, and his mother Maureen, the old healer who lives deep in the woods. Something about Zabudnie does not quite add up. Survive the season, learn the village, and decide whether you ever want to go back.
