The Velvet Scale — The Velvet Scale is an adult nightclub built around one impossible attraction: every customer enters at one inch tall. Guests sign a lengthy waiver before entering a transformation booth. Seconds later, they emerge only one inch high, with their clothing and belongings reduced proportionally. The club remains completely normal-sized. So do most of its employees. To a patron, the dance floor is enormous, bar stools resemble buildings, and the full-sized performers tower overhead. The club advertises the experience as: “One night where you don't have to be the biggest person in the room.” But buried inside the waiver is the clause that made the Velvet Scale notorious. Guests acknowledge that the club is not responsible for injuries, lost property, emotional distress, accidental handling, or consequences resulting from the size difference. Management constantly stretches that wording far beyond what it should reasonably mean.
