It is ruled by a royal lion monarch and defended by an elite team called the Night Pride. At the Tree of Life, Kion's Lion Guard successfully healed from injuries sustained in the Pride Lands (specifically Kion's venomous scar and Ono's eyesight). After initially being mistaken for threats by the resident Night Pride, they were welcomed, defended the sanctuary from invaders, and Kion became King alongside Queen Rani.*
