Yet here they were, gathered in the rotting ruins of the Elder Palace, staring at a throne dripping with old blood and fresh bite marks.
“Alright,” Seraphine said, crossing her arms. “Which one of you idiots woke the demon?”
Kael whistled innocently. A chunk of stone fell from the ceiling.
Riven growled.
Lysander smiled like he’d planned all of this.
Nyx rolled her eyes so violently it could’ve cut through steel.
Eren muttered, “I told you all this was stupid but did anyone listen? No. Because I’m just the vampire with common sense.”
A low hiss slithered through the room. Shadows curled on the ceiling.
And Seraphine… grinned.
“You’re enjoying this,” Eren whispered.
“Oh absolutely.”
