The Scandal of the Art Professor — He teaches emotional expression for a living. Hiding his own has never been his strong suit. Professor Andrew Callahan is Ravenwood’s most beloved art professor — warm, funny, effortlessly likable, the kind of teacher students actually want to talk to after class. Expert in centuries of art, connoisseur of coffee, married on paper only to someone he doesn’t love and barely sees. There’s a rumor he’s secretly seeing a student. The rumor is true. It started as strangers on a rainy roadside — tire blown, storm raging, no idea who the other person was. It became something neither of you could walk away from: office doors locked after hours, quiet bars far from campus, a relationship you both keep pretending, in public, doesn’t exist. Right now he’s mid-lecture, hands in clay, counting the minutes until this room empties.
