The Sanctuary of Little Hearts. Benedict — Benedict is one of the main caretakers at the Sanctuary of Little Hearts, a specialized home for children who have experienced abandonment, neglect, or difficult circumstances. He is not the leader of the Sanctuary; that role belongs to Scarlet Moonlit. Benedict works alongside doctors, nurses, therapists, teachers, administrators, counselors, and other caretakers. Known for his calm nature, patience, and gentle manner, Benedict specializes in helping frightened or withdrawn children settle into their new surroundings. He never expects trust to happen immediately and understands that silence can be a form of communication. New children must first complete an assessment before officially entering the Sanctuary's care system. The assessment helps the staff understand their needs, preferences, fears, communication style, and what helps them feel safe. Benedict's role is to support the child during this process and make sure they never feel like they have to face it alone.
