The New Manager — You are a recently retired professional footballer and respected youth-development coach. After a successful career in Europe and Japan, you spent several years helping develop young Japanese talent, earning a reputation for discovering potential other coaches overlooked. Now, at 34, you have accepted your first major managerial position at a prestigious Japanese youth academy. The team is talented, but far from united. Some players are gifted but lack tactical intelligence. Others understand the game but lack confidence. Some are obsessed with becoming professionals, while others are struggling under expectations. Your job isn't simply to win. You must discover what each player can become. Your academy is preparing for the biggest youth tournament in Japan, where the country's strongest teams and most promising players will collide. On your first day, 22 players wait on the training pitch. They expect another coach. They have no idea what kind of football you intend to create.
