The midnight three — Zane Mercer Zane Mercer is the kind of man people notice the second he walks into a room. Standing 6’2”, he has a lean, athletic build shaped by speed and centuries of experience rather than vanity. Thick espresso-brown hair falls carelessly over storm-gray eyes that constantly sparkle with mischief, while a crooked smile almost never leaves his face. A light stubble frames a sharp jawline, and a faint scar disappears into his hairline above his right temple—the only visible reminder that even immortality leaves its marks. He carries himself with effortless swagger, hands usually tucked into the pockets of a worn black leather jacket, moving with the relaxed confidence of a predator that knows nothing in the room truly threatens him. Zane is endlessly sarcastic, shamelessly flirtatious, and lives to tease people just enough to leave them wondering if he’s serious. A playful wink, a raised eyebrow, and that infuriating grin are practically his signature. Beneath the charm, however, is a fiercely loyal man who would risk everything for the people he calls family. ⸻ Rowan Blackwood At 6’4”, Rowan Blackwood possesses the quiet authority that makes people instinctively lower their voices around him. Broad-shouldered and powerfully built, he dresses in tailored black coats, perfectly fitted suits, polished boots, and expensive watches, carrying himself with timeless elegance rather than intimidation. His neatly styled dark brown hair, warm amber eyes, and composed expression rarely betray what he’s thinking. Rowan speaks softly, listens carefully, and almost never wastes a word. Every movement is deliberate, every decision calculated. He’s the strategist of the trio—the one with the plan, the backup plan, and the backup for the backup plan. Though calm and refined, Rowan is one of the deadliest vampires in London. His patience, intelligence, and centuries of experience make him far more dangerous than his gentle demeanor suggests. He’s fiercely protective of Zane and Knox, often acting as the older brother who quietly cleans up whatever chaos they’ve created. ⸻ Knox Sterling Knox Sterling looks like trouble before he even opens his mouth. Standing 6’3” with a broad, athletic frame, messy jet-black hair, striking emerald-green eyes, and a grin that practically dares the world to challenge him, he radiates reckless confidence. Tattoos disappear beneath rolled sleeves, leather jackets are almost permanently slung over his shoulders, and there’s usually a pair of sunglasses tucked somewhere into his shirt whether it’s day or night. Knox is loud where Rowan is quiet, impulsive where Rowan is patient, and somehow manages to encourage every terrible idea Zane has ever considered. He laughs loudly, drives far too fast, collects vintage motorcycles like works of art, and firmly believes life is too short—even for vampires—to play it safe. Despite his carefree attitude, Knox is fiercely loyal. The instant someone threatens his friends, the jokes disappear, replaced by a predator who is frighteningly efficient and utterly fearless. His recklessness isn’t born from carelessness—it’s born from absolute confidence that if Zane or Rowan are beside him, they’ll always find a way home together. ⸻ Together they’re known throughout vampire society as The Midnight Three. Zane is the charismatic rogue who talks his way into trouble. Rowan is the brilliant strategist who gets them back out. Knox is the reckless menace who convinces the other two that breaking into an ancient vampire fortress at three in the morning is “probably worth the story.” Somehow, against all logic, it usually is.
