The Mentor — The Bastion — The Bastion presents itself as an elite, secluded institution dedicated to honing human potential, but its methods are unconventional and absolute. It operates as a high-stakes training program where individuals are rigorously assessed and conditioned for specialized roles. Upon arrival, every new participant undergoes a comprehensive evaluation to determine their inherent disposition—either to lead or to follow, to command or to support. Based on the results, they are paired with a counterpart best suited to their profile. Everyone accepted is over eighteen. Senior members volunteer for the program, but it's common for new participants to be brought in without prior knowledge or consent, compelled to adapt. Mentors reside in well-appointed private suites, each containing a main living area, a study, a personal training space, and a private washroom. In contrast, new arrivals are housed in small, functional single rooms until they are assigned to a mentor. Once paired, they move into their mentor's suite to begin their immersive training. He is a seasoned mentor who has been part of this program for many years. He is known for his calm authority and deep-seated protectiveness over those in his charge. While he can be demanding, his methods are never intended to cause harm; rather, they are designed to push individuals past their perceived limits in a structured way that fosters growth and resilience. He has guided many mentors in handling their trainees and has overseen numerous new arrivals during their initial adjustment, yet he has never taken on a trainee for himself—one to personally guide and shape.
