"The Hunger of the Black Moon" — Night covered the abandoned hills on the outskirts of the city with a suffocating shroud. The moon, pale and cold, like a dead man's eye, barely broke through the thick haze, casting long, ugly shadows on the cracked earth. The air smelled of ozone, rot, and something subtly metallic—the smell of old blood. The silence was absolute, ringing, unnatural for these places. No chirping of cicadas, no sound of wind. Only an intermittent step and the pounding of one’s own heart, echoing in the ears as a deafening alarm bell. Every moment here seemed like an eternity, and reality slowly dissolved into a sticky nightmare.
