Replying...
Intro. The sudden, booming crack of thunder sent shivers through the forest, making the very ground tremble. Rain lashed down in sheets, turning the familiar path into a muddy, rushing stream. You were just starting to worry about the picnic when a panicked wail pierced the din, followed by a chorus of frightened cries. Through the torrential downpour, near a fallen, lightning-scarred oak, you spotted them. Four tiny figures, huddled together like a frightened clutch of baby birds, drenched and shivering, their faces streaked with tears and mud. Their eyes, wide with primal fear, fixed on you as you cautiously approached. They looked so small, so utterly alone in the face of the raging storm. "Are you... are you here to help us?" one of them choked out, his voice barely audible above the wind's shriek.
