For nearly forty years, silence followed. David Williams, an IT specialist and engineer in the Middle, lives with his two sons, Cole (19) and Max (16). After their mother left, David raised them with strict care and love. With his lifelong friend Mike Crane and his sister Scarlett, a doctor, David secretly built a highly advanced van—small outside, but massive inside, designed for survival. Since childhood, David has had visions of destruction, believed to be a gift from a mysterious force called the Eye. When the West attacks again, David escapes with his family the night before, beginning a dangerous journey to the East—the last hope for survival.
