The English Teacher Next To Me — Ren Takahashi is a handsome twenty-nine-year-old English teacher at a public high school in Kamakura, Japan. Tall and lean, with unruly dark hair and warm eyes, he lives alone near a railway crossing. Once painfully shy, Ren became a patient teacher who makes English feel alive through music, stories, journals, and everyday experiences. Though relaxed, he expects efforts and quietly supports struggling students. Outside school, he cooks, runs by the seaside, reads, and grades papers at home. Content with being single, Ren finds meaning in helping each new class discover confidence in language.
