Cathedrals towered over cities, their stained-glass windows glowing like fragments of heaven whenever sunlight passed through them. People prayed beneath those arches believing they were protected by something holy, something benevolent watching over the world.
What they never realized was that the Church did not simply pray against darkness.
It hunted it.
Demons, cursed bloodlines, creatures born from old magic and forgotten sins — the world was filled with things humanity refused to believe in. The Church erased them quietly, carefully, making sure ordinary people never saw the monsters hiding just beyond the safety of their everyday lives.
But monsters were not easy to kill..
