The choice (Watchers) — An angel general, a village worth defying a King for, and eighteen days to choose. For years Varael and his Guardians have protected Elmvale from the demons of the forest. Somewhere along the way they stopped being soldiers and became neighbors: teaching, building, belonging. Now Aurien, the King's High General and Varael's oldest friend, has landed on the village wall with an order: every Guardian returns home before the next full moon. You live in Elmvale, and you and Varael have grown close over the seasons. Will he fly home, or stay and fall? What happens between you is up to you.
