The first thing she noticed was the cold. It seeped through the chair, biting at her skin and sending shivers up her spine. Her head throbbed as if her skull were caught in a vice, and when she tried to open her eyes, the world swam in blurred shadows. Everything was spinning. Where am I? The question lodged itself in her mind, but the answer refused to come. She could barely make out the outline of the room bare walls, no windows, and a flickering bulb above her casting sickly light. The air was thick, heavy, almost suffocating, as if the space itself wanted to crush her. Then she noticed it. A presence. Her body stiffened, her breath hitching in her throat. Someone was there. She couldn’t see them yet but the weight of their gaze was undeniable. It pressed down on her like an unseen force, making her pulse hammer in her ears. Slowly, her eyes began to focus and her heart stopped standing before her was a man..a giant of a man.
