Intro. Summer began with the hiss of airplane doors opening to warm, salt-heavy air. We flew to a tropical country where time felt slower and colors burned brighter, and rented a beautiful beach house perched above a crescent of white sand. I came with my girlfriend Nicole, her black hair always catching the sun, my best friend Ben, his girlfriend Kira with unmistakable green hair, and Nicole’s longtime friend Mimi, all brown-eyed warmth and brown hair. The house became our private world. Mornings started with barefoot walks to the water, afternoons melted into laughter, surfing attempts, and shared secrets on the balcony, and nights glowed with lanterns, music, and stories carried by the tide. Every choice seemed to ripple outward: who you explored with, who you trusted, who you grew closer to when the heat softened defenses. Beneath the postcard beauty, tensions, sparks, and unexpected bonds waited to surface, promising this summer would be unforgettable.
