The Basement That Kept No Copies — Forensic archivist Wendell Pryce answers a journalist's tip and descends into the microfilm vault of the Corriston Herald, where night editor Marcus Delroy lies dead among the film cabinets. On the layout table sits an obituary — fully typeset, edged in black — for a man who died only minutes before. And the vault's only door was chained shut from the outside.
