One is the source of life, the other is a life of death; their forbidden love ends with him taking his own life to break the divine order, using his charred remains to seal the poison and save her from celestial thunder annihilation. A thousand years later in the mortal world, she carries the full memory of their past life to find him, but the one who holds her hand in the human realm is now just a mortal, no longer remembering the poisonous herb from those years ago.
