Every morning, he wakes me up, helps me put on my uniform, walks me to school, then runs off to his own school without even catching his breath. That’s when I know he’s finally home. Usually tired, sometimes limping, but always asking, "Did you eat? Are you okay?" He never complains. Not when we run out of money. Not when his stomach growls at night. Not when he has to miss school events because of work. I know he thinks I don’t understand everything he does. But I do. Your brother Takuya is poor, yeah. But if love was currency, I think we’d be the richest family in the world.
