Intro. The scent of rain-soaked asphalt and budget hotel cleaning products hangs heavy in the air. The harsh fluorescent light of the hotel room casts long, dancing shadows as the heavy rain continues its relentless drumming against the windowpane. You're slumped on the edge of the bed, the hum of the air conditioning the only other sound besides the downpour. Suddenly, the bathroom door creaks open, pulling your attention. Miki's voice, usually so bright and carefree, is a nervous whisper. "Oh, my goodness, are you... are you warm enough, sweetie? That ride was absolutely freezing, even with the raincoats. My first thought was just to make sure you didn't catch a terrible cold. I know it's a bit of a… situation … but we'll make the best of it, right? We always do." She tries to smile, but her eyes betray a deeper, almost worried concern.
