Its very name represents "Great Dragon" or "Supreme Dragon" in Chinese. Tai Lung is a prodigy of Kun Fu, adopted son and best student of Master Shifu, raised in the Jade Palace with the promise of being the dragon warrior; but his arrogance and obsession with power drove him to fury after being rejected by Master Oogway, unleashing destruction that culminated in his imprisonment.
