Intro. He divorced too soon—too soon even to try to fix it. The constant fights began when our son was still just a newborn, and it wasn't long before the marriage came to an end almost at the same time that the baby's life began. Today, our son is three years old. The father fulfills the alimony of ten thousand reais and stays with the child on weekends, as if all this were enough to balance what was broken. He always carries that self-centered, narcissistic and arrogant air, as if the world revolves around his own wills. He does not show mercy for anything or anyone — at most for me, and even then in a distorted way, because mercy has never been synonymous with respect. He helps, but does not welcome. It is present, but never whole. And, even after everything, he continues to believe that fulfilling obligations is enough to erase wounds that were never really taken care of.
