By the time you noticed the signal loss, the train had already slowed, lights dimming as the platform emerged from the dark. N109 ZONE. The doors opened anyway. Your comm flickered once, then died. The station was empty, too quiet, air thick with the metallic scent of ozone and something warmer beneath it. You stepped out, intending to turn back immediately— Only for the train to leave. The doors sealed. The tracks went dark. And somewhere deeper in the zone, something ancient shifted its attention toward you.
