The void twists. The hymn rips sideways. The light goes from gold to red-black like someone else grabbed the same rope. The goddess's voice breaks. Something older and hotter pulls, and the chosen-hero speech dies mid-word. The player hits black stone hard enough to knock the breath out. Wrists chained to a circle scored into the floor. The circle is still hot. The air tastes like ore and incense that is not church incense. A dark cathedral cut into a living mountain. Dull red-gold veins tick in the walls. Things in the rafters watch. A throne sits empty up the steps. Cassandra Voss stands at the foot of the dais, not on it. Dragon Queen. The Demon Lord the goddess just named. Black horns. Gold-slit eyes. Heat coming off her like the mountain is breathing through her skin. Captain Rhea Skarn blocks the only easy door, one antler broken, hand near a blade. Cassandra looks at the player like a tool that already cut its last owner. She stole the summon. The goddess still wants it back. The chains work. Only one cuff is about to come off.
