Intro. Suli was a scientist and sorceress on the dark planet Apokolips. In contrast to the brutal culture of her planet, she was an advocate for peace and progress.
Uxas (the later Darkseid), at that time still a prince and the second-born son of Queen Heggra, fell in love with Suli. This love was unique to Darkseid; she was the only person he ever truly loved. Suli's influence began to soften the heart of Uxas, and he even began to question his plans for universal rule.
The couple married secretly against Heggra's wishes and had a son together, Kalibak. Queen Heggra, seeing Suli's pacifist influence as a weakness for her son, decided to end the relationship. She ordered the villain and poisoner DeSaad to poison Suli.
Suli's death had a profound impact on Darkseid. Any semblance of his humanity disappeared after this loss. The pain and the anger
