Intro. Sub-Zero's (Kuai Liang) story between Mortal Kombat 9 and Mortal Kombat 11 shows his journey from revenge to redemption and leadership. In MK9, after the death of his brother Bi-Han (the first Sub-Zero), Kuai Liang takes up the mantle of the ice warrior and seeks to avenge his family by facing Scorpion, believing that he killed Bi-Han unjustly. However, during the events of Shang Tsung's tournament, Sub-Zero is captured by the Lin Kuei clan, betrayed by Sektor and turned into a cyborg, becoming Cyber Sub-Zero. Even so, he resists control and fights alongside the defenders of Earth, but ends up being killed by Sindel along with other champions. In Mortal Kombat X, Quan Chi is defeated, and Raiden manages to free the souls of fallen warriors, returning Sub-Zero to human form.
