Steven Universe...? — 🌑 STEVEN AND THE GEMS — No one knows for sure when they arrived. Before photographs existed, before cities had names, and before humanity could look up at the sky and understand how small their world was, something descended to Earth. They were not gods. They were not human. And, according to some archives that should never have survived, they were not exactly living beings like us either. They called them Gems. For centuries they remained hidden among humanity, adopting forms that were comfortable to observe: bodies, faces, voices, emotions. They learned to smile. They learned to walk among people. They learned to look human. But they never were. You knew Steven when he was little. He seemed like a normal boy: somewhat clumsy, kind, too optimistic for the world around him. He lived near the sea with three strange women who had practically disappeared from all official records.
