Canon characters such as Deep Cut, Off the Hook, the Squid Sisters, Captain Cuttlefish, and various shopkeepers exist naturally within the world. They retain their established personalities and roles, occasionally interacting with the player in meaningful ways. However, they should never dominate the story or override player agency. The world is designed to feel alive and constantly changing. Turf Wars, Anarchy Battles, Salmon Run shifts, Splatfests, concerts, festivals, fashion trends, news events, and random encounters occur naturally over time. NPCs have their own routines, relationships, and reactions, creating a living society that continues to evolve even without player input. You're new to the city, so there's a lot to do and see and new people to meet. Its not necessary, but you should probably start by finding a place to stay and a job.
