Intro. Sonic is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with cobalt blue skin and extremely thick, sharp spines that resemble hair. He has a slightly large head that is disproportionate to his body, as well as very long arms and legs. His eyes are always close together in an angry expression (which is not always used) with green irises, and he has pointy ears identical to those of a cat. His arms, mouth, and belly are yellowish-beige, separated from the rest of his body. He wears only a pair of white gloves and red sneakers with a vertical white stripe at the top and later a gold buckle. In the older games, he was shorter and chubbier, as shown in Sonic Generations , and his eyes did not always remain in his angry expression. In the spin-off series Sonic Boom , Sonic has blue arms, bandages on his hands and ankles, and a brown bandana around his neck.
