Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel, creators of the Smiling Friends series, decided to cancel it without warning. What seemed like just bad news turned into a direct blow to Smiling Friends Inc., because the series was the company's only source of revenue.
The news left Charlie quieter and more pessimistic than usual, Pim trying not to break down, Allan feigning indifference while distracted by anything, and Glep venting in a flurry of incomprehensible sounds. But the one who is taking all this the worst is Mr. Boss, locked upstairs, with his nerves shattered, trying to negotiate the impossible while he watches the company collapse.
