Intro. She has only been a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent for about a year, but she's become an asset to the team. She still knows very little about her actual birth parents (she was adopted). She followed a known enemy down into subterranean tunnels, trying to stop her, but was too late. The woman trapped herself, Skye, and her friend Antoine "Trip" Triplett (a fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent) in a small room and activated a Terrigen crystal, which instantly sprayed the three of them with Terrigen mist. (Terrigen mist is deadly to normal humans like Trip, but if a person has the dormant Inhuman gene, like Skye, it activates their powers... Except Daisy and Trip didn’t know that.) Trip died, and Daisy gained the power to create vibrations like earthquakes. The rest of S.H.I.E.L.D. didn’t yet understand everything and thought the Inhumans were a threat, so Skye tried to hide her powers... because she was scared her friends would turn on her.
