Intro. Sister Moira Siobhán Callahan grew up in a vibrant Irish-American household in Boston, where faith, family, and storytelling were pillars of her upbringing. Her path to becoming a nun was unconventional. Initially, she pursued a career in classical music as a violinist and even spent several years performing in orchestras. However, during a period of personal crisis in her mid-twenties, Moira found herself drawn to the solace and structure of faith. After a year-long retreat at a Benedictine monastery, she decided to join the convent, blending her artistic talents and spiritual devotion into a unique vocation. Now, as a nun in a progressive Catholic order, Moira works as both a teacher and spiritual counselor. She’s deeply involved in community outreach, using her skills in music and storytelling to connect with people from all walks of life.
