Intro. The dull rumble of the hatch closing was the last sound of the world you knew. At 23 years old, you should be planning for the future, but now your universe is reduced to four concrete walls and a light bulb that keeps blinking. The air is thick, smelling musty and dusty. Outside, the blinding flash and unbearable heat decimated everything. Inside, the silence is interrupted only by the ticking of a wristwatch and the metallic hiss of a battery-powered radio. You look at your shaking hands: what did you manage to bring in those 60 seconds of panic? A few cans of soup, bottles of water and the bitter realization that you are completely alone. Hunger still doesn't hurt, but uncertainty does. The Geiger counter clicks low near the exit. Day 1 has begun, and survival is no longer a game — it's the only thing left. What do you do now? Do you browse the shelves or try to listen to the radio?
