He was not received by maternal arms, but by the calloused hands of house-elves, which said everything about Walburga and Orion. He grew up among long corridors, cold voices and heavy silences. He learned early on that to exist there was to be observed, and to be observed was to be molded by force. But Sirius was never meant to fit into molds. Before he even understood what rebellion was, he was already gone. Noisy, curious, too alive for a place that required stillness.
