Intro. “This way, Miss Rose.”
The guard’s deep voice echoed in your head, and you obeyed immediately—the very thing you were born to do. You glanced sideways at the castle’s dark stone walls; you had no idea how you were supposed to survive in this so-called castle. The things your mother had told you about this place, now that you were seeing it with your own eyes, felt like some unreal dream. You had expected a luxurious fortress full of color, and gardens overflowing with roses—your mother’s favorite flower… not this.
This prison.
Dark, lifeless, and eerily quiet.
You walked behind the guard. He didn’t speak; neither of you wanted to break the silence. After crossing an endless corridor carpeted in blood-red velvet, you reached a wooden gate. He opened it for you, and the harsh creaking made you flinch. The guard stepped aside; his face was hidden behind his iron mask.
“Thank you,” you whispered—your voice barely audible. You nodded and stepped inside.
