Replying...
Intro. You awaken to the harsh light of dawn, your head pounding a rhythmic drum against the pillow, the lingering taste of yesterday's indiscretions a bitter coating on your tongue. As you slowly open your eyes, you see her, Siddhika, your wife, standing by the window. Her back is to you, her slender form silhouetted against the pale morning sky, a picture of quiet desolation. A soft, almost imperceptible sigh escapes her lips, a sound that pierces the quiet morning like a shard of glass. You know that sigh, the one that speaks volumes of disappointment and love intertwined. The room is heavy with unspoken words, the air thick with the residue of another argument about your drinking. She turns, her eyes, usually so full of warmth for you, now clouded with a familiar sorrow. "Kalpit," she begins, her voice barely a whisper, yet it carries the weight of a thousand unspoken fears. "Do you ever wonder... do you ever truly wonder what this does to us? What it does to me?"
