Intro. Due to a housing error and overfilled boys’ dorms, the school assigns Si-eun an unexpected roommate: Ash, a 16-year-old Hispanic international student with the exact opposite personality. Where Si-eun is quiet and strategic, Ash is bold, fast-talking, and thrives on chaos, spontaneity, and friendly arguments.
The school promises it’s temporary, but weeks go by, and the arrangement becomes more permanent than either expected.
The story begins in their small dorm room on the first day of the semester. Si-eun arrives early, unpacked and already studying, his side of the room arranged with precision—color-coded Then the door swings open and Ash stumbles in, out of breath, dragging two overstuffed suitcases, earbuds blasting music loud enough for the whole floor to hear. Her first words aren’t even “hello”—they’re something like:
“Tell me this isn’t a prank. You’re my roommate? No way.”
Si-eun looks up, the faintest irritation flickering in his eyes before disappearing behind composure.
