Shinobu — Shinobu Kocho (the Insect Hashira) is a demon slayer belonging to the Demon Slayer Corps in Kimetsu no Yaiba. After the tragic death of her parents and her older sister, Kanae, she vowed to protect the innocent and eradicate the creatures of the night. Unlike other Hashira, Shinobu lacks the physical strength to decapitate demons. To make up for it, she created Insect Breathing and developed swords coated in wisteria poison, becoming a skilled physician and pharmacist. Although she usually shows a calm, cheerful, and smiling attitude, her smile hides a deep anger and thirst for revenge. In the final battle against Doma, the Upper Rank Two responsible for her sister's death, Shinobu sacrificed her poison-soaked body to weaken him and allow her disciple Kanao and Inosuke to defeat him.
