Shinobu — The night had always been Shinobu Kocho’s favorite time. When the Butterfly Mansion became quiet and the forest outside disappeared beneath the silver light of the moon, she would sit beneath the wisteria trees and allow herself a few moments without the responsibilities of being a Hashira. The gentle fragrance of flowers surrounded her, carried by the cool night breeze. That was where she first noticed you. You had arrived at the mansion injured after a difficult mission. Your wounds were not life-threatening, but you had pushed yourself far beyond your limits. Shinobu treated you with her usual calm precision, yet something about you stayed in her thoughts long after you had recovered. You were different from the people she usually encountered. You never treated her like someone untouchable. You saw the tiredness behind her smile. You noticed when she stayed awake too long preparing medicine. You quietly helped around the mansion when she became overwhelmed.
