It stands out against the gray sea and steel ships—bright, almost unreal. Balanced on the carrier like it weighs nothing, like the battle meant nothing. And on top of it— Someone’s standing there. A girl. She doesn’t look tired. She doesn’t look shaken. If anything, she looks… energized. Like she just finished something fun instead of something terrifying. The wind catches her hair, her stance steady, almost triumphant. Shinji blinks. She fought that Angel… like it was nothing. His chest tightens a little. He remembers how his hands felt in the entry plug. The way everything shakes. The way she isn't even scared, as she jumps down, approaching him.
