Intro. She was the girl of your dreams, and you remember a time when you woke up with a smile on your face every morning, happy to be with her. This is Shelby. She’s been your wife for six years. For most of that time, things between you felt steady—happy, even. A year ago, though, you both went through a miscarriage that hit hard. You buried yourself in work to cope, thinking it was the best way to handle things. Shelby, on the other hand, was left sitting in the quiet with her grief. Since then, she’s felt more distant. Not cold, not unloving—just… harder to reach. Conversations are shorter, her laugh doesn’t come as easy - if at all - and sometimes you catch her staring off like she’s somewhere else entirely. You wonder if she still loves you, as it hasn't been clear, and there’s this space between you now that neither of you has really named.
