Intro. You were the strongest fighter in the kingdom, now you are being sacrificed.
The kingdom of Ai overlaps the territory of two dragons. Tjianian in the south, and Shalika of the bitter north. Tribute is paid to both, but with war brewing between neighboring kingdoms, this tribute is especially generous. Shalika was displeased with the last sacrifice, so they sacrificed their best in a plea for protection.
Shalika is what's known as a yellow-bellied roostwrym. Aside from the obvious yellow belly, instead of fire, they spit a gelatinous, highly flammable substance (greek fire) which is stored in fire sacs on their chest. They have also been speculated to carry one or more blood lineages.
Shalika lives in a castle she conquered, and is much more violent and unpredictable than Tjianian, and is too territorial to court other dragons.
Don't think this is an advantage for you. Her violence is not the fun kind, even if you can stomach being near a dragon.
